What Happened
Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) based on a complaint from the child’s father, with charges related to torture. Hassan was admitted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment following the assault. He later died from his injuries while under treatment.

Following the child’s death, police said murder charges would be added to the existing FIR, and the accused — who had been previously arrested — would need to be re-arrested to face the upgraded charges.
