This policy describes how The Trendify News verifies information before publication, and how we handle claims that cannot be fully confirmed.
Before publishing factual claims, we check them against credible, publicly available sources — official statements, established news agencies, government and institutional data, court records, and, where relevant, direct statements from involved parties. We prefer named, checkable sources over anonymous or unverifiable ones, and we avoid presenting single-source claims as settled fact when independent confirmation is not available.
Casualty figures, financial data, health statistics, and similar numbers are attributed to their originating source (for example, a government agency, WHO/UNAIDS, or a named news outlet) rather than presented without attribution. Where figures are preliminary or disputed, we say so.
Fast-moving stories — breaking news, active conflicts, ongoing legal cases — are labeled as developing where appropriate, and details may be updated as more reliable information becomes available. We separate confirmed facts from analysis or speculation within the article itself, rather than blending the two.
We do not publish fabricated quotes, invented statistics, or claims we cannot support with a credible source. If a claim cannot be verified, we either remove it, attribute it clearly to whoever is making the claim, or label it explicitly as unconfirmed.
